Does giani granite paint work

In time anything you do to your counter tops like this is going to fail. Has anyone ever used this? Prep is going to be your most important part on this project. There are counter top paints. The photos are pretty impressive (see link).

While it would be permanent, perhaps the landlord might not mind if the counters are already. Yes AS LONG as the formica is held fast and tight to the wall. Yes sand it , even roughly and then use either a tack rag or some mineral spirits ( or equal) and wipe it down to get the fine dust off. Best to use a enhanced white thin set. We don’t have a big countertop.

The first thing I had to do was remove any silicone caulk, because it’s not paintable. The next step was to tape off everything with ScotchBlue painter’s tape. First, you need to have several free days to do this project. Each layer needs time to dry before you move on to the next layer.

BTW the drywall in this room is rough from removing both painted-over wallpaper and the backsplash. The red cent paint is going to be history as well. Now let me say that is NOT including the prep work. So let’s start with that, right after I give you the additional materials list. As tedious as it is, the prep work is the most important part of the whole process.

So do a good job now, and avoid a lot of headaches later. All I had to do was take an SOS pad to where I wanted to paint , then rinse it twice. Because of the extent of work needed to do that, I would have to shut down the kitchen for a week or more. When you have a family of five to feed three times a day, that ain’t really happening. At least not in these parts.

I chose more of a sandstone type look which would work great for my bathroom. Upon opening the box, there was everything from a training video to a few different cans of paint , a training manual, sponge and more. I used to feel guilty for the energy I spent resenting the obnoxious top running the length of my kitchen for ruining my life. Chalkworthy paint (aff. link). Oh my, did I have fun painting my old beat up rocking chairs on the front porch with this paint.

We have complied some of the more common questions people have had while doing their countertops with the kit. Applying a faux granite finish, like Gianni Granite Countertop Paint, is a great way to breathe new life into old plastic laminate countertops. As long as the final poly clear coat hasn’t been applie it’s no problem to refinish over the existing finish.

I got busy with work , life, fantasy football…. They have seen better days. After less than months of use, the top sealing coat is wearing away. And it really does look like granite. Giani granite paint (aff. link).

I have always wanted granite but never wanted to spend that kind of money. We’ve had quite a few people come over to check out our countertops now and they have all LOVED it! I highly recommend this product!

The kits we used cost about $100. Our Do-it-Yourself (DIY) Kits have everything you need to create rich Granite tones or beautiful Marble patterned surfaces. To be fair, we haven’t had a chance to use that kit yet. We had to go searching high and low for it, but later I found that you can buy it from Amazon.

This wasn’t a hard project, but it does take several days. This project is definitely a must for anyone that needs to redo a kitchen or bathroom on a budget. I decided on Bombay Black for the countertop color. The resurfacing paint works on Formica tops, Corian, solid surface, wood ceramic and synthetic marble. I’d go back in and work a bit more.

I’d dab a bit of paint on with the tooth brush or a tooth pick. Hey I painted my kitchen countertops with that same paint (in the wheat color though) and when it drie I got some rustoleum stone effects spray paint and sprayed that stuff on, then when it dried I put coats of polyurethane on.
